Nortel and LG-Nortel will be joint sponsors at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, July 7-10, in Houston, TX. The Worldwide Partner Conference provides an online and in-person forum to learn more about business growth opportunities and product innovation from Microsoft executives. At this conference, Nortel and LG-Nortel will showcase solution demonstrations on integrated and non-integrated unified commiunications solutions.

Through the Nortel-Microsoft Innovative Communications Alliance, UC solutions include Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 integration with the Communication Server 1000 IP-PBX, Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 unified messaging integration, Nortel Multimedia Conferencing, and the UC Integrated Branch featuring the Secure Router 4134. These solutions integrate the Microsoft Unified Communications platform with Nortel business-grade telephony in an open, standards-based environment.

Through LG-Nortel, the IP Phone 8500 series of devices offers an intuitive, people-centric, and rich communications experience optimized to support and employ unified communications applications like Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft Office Communicator 2007. These devices-including IP phones, handset peripherals, and mobile headsets-enable users to locate and communicate with customers, partners, and colleagues in a highly integrated and secure environment using common Microsoft communications and collaboration applications.

In addition, the solutions showcase will feature the Nortel Secure Network Access (SNA) solution and its integration with the Microsoft Network Access Protection (NAP). This integration lets customers leverage the strengths of both Nortel SNA and Microsoft NAP.
