In conjunction with our Optical Networks portfolio, Nortel is bringing to market one of the industry's most comprehensive Metro Ethernet offerings.

Through a combination of comprehensive on-box Ethernet OAM, the deterministic nature of Provider Backbone Transport technology, and our carrier-class operational tools, Nortel delivers an Ethernet operational environment similar to the TDM infrastructure paradigm that carrier's desire.
- Support massive scalability. With Nortel's Carrier Ethernet Provider Backbone Bridging technology, millions of service instances are possible, as compared to just over 4,000 with traditional Ethernet.

Nortel's Carrier Ethernet solution is based on existing Ethernet hardware and the provider's existing operations paradigm and knowledge base.
